The Kouroufing Project covers an areaof 90.7km2 within the Kenieba Inlier to the east of the regionally significant Senegal-Mali Shear Zone (“SMSZ”). The SMSZ and associated northeast-trending splay structures are spatially realted to several major gold projects including: Fekola (7.1Moz), Loulo (12.5Moz), Gounkoto (5.4Moz), Yatela (3Moz), Sadiola (15Moz) and Sabodala (10Moz).
The Company has met all requirements to increase its interest in the project from 65% to 100% and will gain 100% owbership as of 23 October 2019.
During 2018, Oklo announced that first pass reconnaissance auger geochemical drilling covering 25% of the Kouroufing Project had outlined the 6km-long Kouroufing gold corridor (Central Target) with grades of up to 14.40g/t gold. Subsequent auger ceochemical drilling outlined the Kome target and further gold trends in the SW of the tenement. The presence of bedrock gold has been confirmed at both the Kome and Central targets by subsequent aircore drilling.
